About the Doctor

David Shen, DMD

Dr. Shen began his education with SUNY at Stony Brook, where he earned his Bachelor of Science. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and his Certificate of Orthodontic Specialty in 1981 from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shen is very involved in his profession, not only as a practicing orthodontist, but also as a member of several professional organizations; at the moment, he is a member of the Board of Overseers for his alma mater’s School of Dental Medicine as well as a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International.

With more than 25 years of experience in his field, Dr. Shen is a highly experienced orthodontist. Additionally, he is in the top five most experienced Invisalign doctors in the world. As a strong believer in the power of education, he has served as a faculty member at UCSF, lectures internationally, and has spoken at the American Association of Orthodontists Annual Convention on several occasions. In the past, he has served as President of the Northern Californian Asian Dental Association, and as Chairman of the Membership Committee of the San Mateo County Dental Society. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the California Dental Association.

Dr. Shen is married and is father to two wonderful children who make him proud every day. In his free time, he enjoys photographs, water sports, and traveling.
